Your Elevator Pitch – It’s NOT About You

What exactly is an “Elevator Pitch“? Simply put it is a confidently delivered, 30-60 second, easy-to-understand description about your company and your product or service BUT described in a way that demonstrates how you solve a challenge or problem. People always want to know what is in it for them. So it really isn’t about you, but how you can help others.

Your pitch should be attention grabbing and deliver a powerful first impression. And, it is a great conversation starter. It should be carefully planned and well-rehearsed yet it should flow easily and naturally. It is called an elevator pitch because you are doing all of this in the time it takes to ride an elevator, so it is important to get it right and deliver a message that others will remember.

Sounds basic, right? But not aways as easy as it may seem. My next post will include tips on how to create a unique and memorable elevator pitch.
